What is a Receiver Pays Consignment?
In the majority of circumstances, businesses will apply a shipping cost to purchased goods in order to account for the extra cost from transporting freight. There will be times when your clients may request for the ability to have this transport booked on their own account, thus removing this cost. In this instance, the movement is paid for by the receiver and this is called a Receiver Pays consignment. As Receiver Pays consignments are a key component of the transport and logistics industry, MachShip has facilitated the ability to consign and book these consignments through the system.
The carriers which have provided notification that they will accept Receiver Pays consignments are:
- Startrack
- TNT
- Border Express
- Tamex
- Toll Express / NQX
- Toll Priority
- Toll Ipec
- Foxline Couriers
- Logiwest
- CTI Couriers
- Mercury Couriers
- CTI Logistics Regional Freight
- CTI Xpress
- Metro Express
- Lightning Transport
- Budget Couriers
- CTI Taxi Trucks
- Expressway Couriers
- Josie's Transport
- Phoenix Transport
- Progress Couriers
- Team Transport
Please be aware that as these consignments are booked on the account of the receiver, the access to POD's and some carrier tracking may not be available.
All Receiver Pays consignments will have $0 consignment costs and sells and not attract surcharges. The consignment will be successfully routed if the from suburb and the to suburb both exist in a valid zone for that carrier.
What is a Receiver Account?
A Receiver Account will be a carrier account number which is created and saved in MachShip. This account will also be able to be saved against a company location and be used when sending freight to a saved location.
